BMW M3 Hire in Sydney

BMW M3 E46In the automotive industry, there are few marques that are able to claim the same purity of purpose that the letter “M” does. Since its inception in 1972, BMW’s M division has had the role of managing the German manufacturer’s competition in motorsport, as well as developing modified versions of its stock models. The presence of an M-badge on a BMW typically means that the car benefits from a performance tuned engine, a stiffer suspension, advanced transmission set-up and a multitude of interior and exterior accessories, including specialised aerodynamic body kits. The infamous Nürburgring circuit, nicknamed “The Green Hell”, serves to this day as the preferred testing ground for the M division.

1986 was the year that marked the birth of an icon, the BMW M3 E30, the very first iteration of the performance enhanced Series 3 BMW. The 2.3 litre 4-cylinder produced a total of 192 horsepower, achieving a 0 to 60 mph time of 6.8 seconds with a maximum speed of 143 mph. Whilst not exceptional by today’s standards, its precise handling and potent power plant allowed it to score repeated victories in the DTM, World, European and Australian Touring Car Championships, making it not only one of the most successful touring cars ever built, but an industry benchmark.

Continuing this heritage, modern BMW M3’s represent the evolution of a legend. The trademark M division elements are ever-present: aggressive styling, wider road stance, more powerful engines, faster throttle response, and finely tuned suspension geometry which ensures remarkable stability at high speed.  This heritage and the modern capabilities of these cars give BMW the right to call the M3 “the ultimate driving machine”.
